The Marathon Race Time Predictor calculates the time it would take you to run a marathon. The Race
Time Predictor takes your fitness level based on the time it takes you to run
a 5 km distance to predict a likely time, and a range, that you are capable
of running a marathon. The prediction assume you will continue train for the
marathon, so your muscles are trained to go the distance.
To use, simply enter your fastest time to complete a 5 km distance. This can be taken
from a 5k race you recently completed or the time from one of your training runs.
Please note, the time you use should not be taken from a race or training run that occurred more
than one year from today.
Based on data we have from former athlete's, we have a confidence greater than 80% that your race
time will be between the fast and the slow time. If you decide to join a program, your program will
predict your marathon race time based on your workouts. It will be updated throughout your program
provide a narrower predicted time--the fast and slow times will be closer together. Knowing where you
stand will allow you to pick an optimum pace and run a smarter race, to increase your chances of
acheiving a personal record.
