Where do you like to run?

We are based in Los Angeles, California. Our favorite places to run are:

1. Santa Monica - Up and around San Vicente Blvd and the Promenade. It's a great place for a Pace/Tempo run, relatively flat and only a few major cross streets. It's also a place where a lot of other runners train, especially early Saturday morning.

2. Santa Monica Mountains - The mountains are an amazing place to train. The hilly, fire-access roads are great for building strength and preparing for a marathon. We usually start at the Canyonback trailhead (access through a subdivision by Supelveda known as Mount Gate). Canyonback trail connects to a wide network of trails. We usually run toward Topanga Canyon, via Dirt Mulholland. With views of the San Fernando Valley, the LA Basin and the ocean, the time goes by fast. Don't forget your water when you go though. There's only a few places to refill: Nike Tower and Reseda Park.

3. Griffith Park - There are many trails and roads to run on at Griffith Park. The ones starting by Loz Feliz Road and the pony rides are relatively flat. The ones that start at the Ferndell entrance are relatively hilly. Roads and trails that start by the observatory provide great views of Hollywood and the city. You can also run on trails that come close to the Hollywood sign. Just watch out for the horses.

Where do you like to run?

Though I love running the run in Santa Monica.  My favorite run is the Palos Verdes Marathon course...or parts of.  Its a beautifully scenic run that starts in San Pedro at Point Fermin Park.  The run continues West on Paseo Del Mar until you reach White's Point.  For a short but challenging run you can go down to the beach area...or you can continue straight through the residential area and hit a turn around point in about a mile or so.  For those who want a longer run, you can run up S. Western Ave. and head west on 25th Street.  That can take you all the way into Torrance.
